I have a schedule with 5 times 1000m at 10k speed an 3 times 200m at about 3k speed four days before the marathon. I'm a bit puzzled about the logic of this. WebI wouldn't consider doing marathon pace miles as junk miles if they are part of a plan. However, doing middle zone miles the day before a workout thus preventing full recovery and inhibiting your ability to complete said workout, they would be junk miles. Saint people describe junk miles as mileage without a purpose.
