WebOct 10, 2024 · Take a razor and score lightly along the base of the fret and ends. Gently peel the finish off of the fret or scrape off. Scoring it keeps the finish from chipping into the fretboard area. You can make a scraper out of about anything metap using a round file and filing a half round into it to a sharp edge.
